D’Estrees Bay 40 km from Kingscote, 63 km from Penneshaw Suitable for advanced surfers. The main beach at D’Estrees Bay is sheltered from the south-westerly swells and only when there is a big swell can you get waves on the beach

Fire damaged 2020 Moderate loop trail begins at Kelly Hill Visitor Centre, passes through the Sugar Gum forest at Kelly Hill Caves. You will be introduced to the surface features associated with the caves below, including the original cave entrance.

One third of Kangaroo Island is national park, conservation parkland or wilderness protection area. Take to the water in a boat or dive beneath the surface on a marine tour. On land, be guided down off the beaten track to secret wildlife hotspot.

Hanson Bay 95 km from Kingscote, 125 km from Penneshaw This break is definitely not for beginners. Hanson Bay has one main beach with occasional sand banks and a permanent rocky point break. The best wind direction is north-east to northerly.

Stokes Bay 50 km from Kingscote, 88 km from Penneshaw Suitable for beginners to advanced surfers. Stokes Bay has reef and beach breaks depending on the size of the swell. The north coast requires a large westerly swell

2020 Fires were at the other end of the Island. This hike follows the coast east of Penneshaw along a section of the original bullock track to Cape Willoughby and provides spectacular views across Backstairs Passage to the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Pennington Bay 37 km from Kingscote, 32 km from Penneshaw Suitable for beginners through to advanced surfers. Pennington Bay works best on a small swell when the winds are from a north-easterly direction.
